Ourstage.com > forward thinking

October 6th, 2008

I received an email the other day from a gentleman called Ryan. He represents a Metal label. So I was thinking, what on earth does he want! :)
Anyway, he had listened to Citizen Grave on Garageband and that we kicking some serious ass! (vocabulary ties in with the Metal thing!) and suggested we take a look at ourstage because he thought we would do well on that particular site. Generally, I dislike these sites because it’s the band with the most friends who wins. This site is slightly different. Everyone stands a chance. Check it out!

Sign of Life

Wow, it’s been a while since the last update. Summer holidays, lots of work - busy times!
Anyway, Uniform Motion Pictures is doing well. We won a contest on cqfd and played at Apple Expo last week, which was good fun.
Next month, we’ve been invited to support Islands at La Maroquinerie which we’re really excited about.
W’e've redesigned the Uniform Motion Pictures website to meet Gran’ma’s approval! :)
It looks much nicer too:

Falling

So far, so good

June 24th, 2008

The Uniform Motion Pictures website is slowly gaining momentum and we have received our first interview requests from Italy, USA and France. Bizarrely enough, the first media to catch on to the concept was Television. I>Tele will be talking about Uniform Motion Pictures this Thursday at around 18:45.
We’ll be recording a video interview with an Italian magazine on Wednesday which will be posting on Sunday with Episode 3, Rain & Soil.
The Rain & Soil mix will be going down on Wednesday.

Last night, Renaud and I went to see a bunch of lads and lasses from a choir group, who will be recording a live song with us soon too, which should be a lot of fun too! :)

When you wake up, you see rain, and you’re late again

June 16th, 2008

The live session went well yesterday. Soline will be exporting the video for Episode two this morning and I’m exporting the MP3 file right now so the full episode will be online later today.

Full squad for Sunday’s match, almost

June 12th, 2008

Yeah, it’s EURO 2008 time so one must use football terms whenever one can.
OK, England didn’t even qualify so why should I even care? Well, I don’t.

Citizen Grave is ready for mixing.
Renaud is finishing the flipbook as we speak.
The site has been updated, and now has a swell contact page, RSS feed, and links to all of the players’ webpages on the homepage.
Christophe, the drummer, has confirmed he will be playing on Sunday. He didn’t make it to practice so he might only be playing one half. It’s kind of scary but I’m sure the team will do well.

Stats:
Close to two hundred people have visited the website since it was launched, and on average each person has spent just over 4 minutes on it, which is really cool. The bulk of the visitors are from France, but we’ve seen fans travel all the way from Japan, Thailand, China, Germany, Italy, the UK, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, and Canada to the Uniform Motion Pictures stadium. We’ve welcomed a few bots from the US and even a few real people too!

So far, the feedback has been really positive.

The Citizen Grave video is really nice, a notch above the Pen Fallacy video I’d say. We’re all gaining experience and confidence and we certainly don’t lack new ideas so I’m confident that the project will evolve nicely over the next couple of months.

I’ll be dropping off the Protools project tomorrow after work and Marc and I will start mixing it Saturday afternoon before shooting the video for Episode 3 on Sunday.

Good night and good luck.

Episode 2 on its way.

June 10th, 2008

Thanks to all those who have left comments, sent messages and good vibes in general. So far, we’ve had some really good feedback on the project.
We shot the video for Citizen Grave about 10 days ago and it’s starting to look really good.

Since we played the live version a bit faster than the studio one, I decided to add an extra 5 BPM to the studio version! Yeah, 10 days before the song’s supposed to released on Uniform Motion Pictures I re-recorded all of the tracks (guitars, vocals, gizmo voices, etc…) Trevor came round to rehearse Episode 3 and played guitar and did some backing vocals too, which is really cool.
The video, track and flipbook will hopefully be ready for Sunday 15th June when we’ll be shooting the video for Rain & Soil.

Trevor, Renaud, Didier and I rehearsed Rain & Soil last night and it’s sounding pretty cool. Didier is a bass player from a band called Caméra
I used to live next door to him and the funny thing is that one day he knocked on the door to ask for a light bulb, you know, the kind of thing that neighbourly neighbours do, and Trevor was over recording some stuff for his Beat The Knave project. Trevor looked and Didier and said “I know you!!!”. They had met ten years previously at University in Lille! Small world.
And having the bass player from a band called Camera play on a song for Uniform Motion Pictures is actually quite cool semantically! :)

The show must go on.

Didier will be playing Double Bass, for the first time in his life. We’ll see how it goes!!

Uniform Motion Pictures Online!

June 2nd, 2008

After weeks and weeks of hard work, Uniform Motion Pictures is now online. Many thanks to all those who made this possible. Marc and Damien from CDM, Reuno, Trevor, Soline, Christophe, Lucille and Frank, thanks for your help, and support!

HERE IT IS!

Uniform Motion Pictures: the beginning is near

June 2nd, 2008

Yesterday, we shot the video for ‘Citizen Grave’, the second episode of Uniform Motion Pictures.
We also finalised the mix of both the studio and live performance of The Pen Fallacy. Unfortunately, a few technical glitches prevented us from launching the site last night so we’re a day late with the launch.
Not to worry, the site will be launched this evening. :) Watch this space. Or another one.

Next session, mixing, etc…

May 29th, 2008

Marc and I will be finalising the mixing and mastering of The Pen Fallacy (live and studio) on Saturday.
Sunday, we’ll be shooting the live performance of Citizen Grave.
We have a really special surprise for another song that will be filmed later on.

Reuno is working on the Uniform Motion Pictures website, getting ready for the big day on Sunday!

We also have some cool promotional stuff in the works that I think will be really enjoyable for you, and me, and them, and the others!

    Welcome

If you're really lazy, why don't you sit back and listen to my dribbling blabble!.
